Rio is a Bookkeeper & Income Tax Preparer at AIM INC with six years of accounting experience and more than 14 years of professional administrative experience. She's proactive, organized, and a natural communicator—the kind of person who likes to stay ahead of things, ask questions, and keep everyone in the loop along the way.

Interestingly, accounting wasn't originally part of Rio's plan. She landed a job processing payroll and discovered that she really enjoyed the work, enough that she changed the direction of her education and pursued accounting. She went on to earn an AAS in Accounting, along with certificates in Bookkeeping Systems, Accounting Office Associate, and Assistant Bookkeeping Clerk.

These days, it's the problem-solving side of bookkeeping that Rio enjoys most. She describes it as a little like being a detective: sometimes you have to follow the trail, figure out what happened, and solve the mystery. But for Rio, the work has never been just about the numbers. She wants her clients to feel that she cares about their business and approaches their books with the same care and investment she would give her own.

There are quite a few chapters to Rio's story outside of accounting, too. Before making the move into accounting and administration, she was a professional landscaper, and she's been a photographer for more than 20 years.

Outside of work, Rio loves spending time in her garden alongside her baby, dog, and tortoise (yes, tortoise!). With a love for both spring and fall, a strong cup of coffee, and plenty of time spent outdoors, she’s found a pretty perfect place to call home in the Pacific Northwest.
